About
Baritone André Henriques was born in Lisbon, Portugal, where he gained his Vocal Studies Diploma from the Escola de Música do Conservatório Nacional, studying with António Wagner Diniz.
A Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation’ scholar, he went on to become a Master in Arts in Opera Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (2016-2018), with Donald Maxwell.
At ease in both Concert/Recital and Opera repertoires, he has worked with all the main artistic houses in Portugal, such as the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, Centro Cultural de Belém, Teatro da Trindade or Coliseu do Porto.
Abroad, he recorded Fulvio and Lucio for Opera Rara’s L’Esule di Roma, with the Britten Simphonia and Carlo Rizzi.
